When project manager Dr. William Belcher detects some unusual data at his Site 3 observatory tucked in the Appalachian Mountains, he has his assistant Tony Bodwell run the spreadsheets over and over.
Once the anomaly is confirmed, he must head straight to the White House with the disturbing information: a mega-asteroid is headed for the East Coast of the United States, destined to leave death, destruction, and tsunami damage in its wake.
The president assigns Col. Bradley Zimmer to join Belcher at Site 3 and strategize for the disaster. Col. Zimmer is the epitome of a clean-cut military man, but through the stress of impending events, he is welcomed into Dr. Belcher’s family and circle of friends in their West Virginia neighborhood.
When there is a fortuitous turn of events, projected by Dr. Belcher, the partners must still plan for a life-changing collision between the meteorite and Greenland, one that may result in panic if people don’t follow the meticulous vision of the doctor and the colonel.
